DFAF Press Release, July 24, 2006
(St. Petersburg, FL) Drug Free America Foundation was recently awarded Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Drug Free America Foundation may now designate official representatives to the United Nations – to the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations offices in Geneva and Vienna.
Calvina Fay, Executive Director of Drug Free America Foundation, commented: “Now that we have officially achieved UN consultative status as a non-governmental organization, we can literally be at the table helping to shape international drug policy instead of working behind the scenes.”
Fay continued, “I am very excited about this opportunity and feel that this will enable our organization to contribute to the mission and the goals of the United Nations, resulting in a mutually beneficial relationship.”
Drug Free America Foundation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fighting drug use, drug addiction and drug trafficking and to promoting effective sound drug policies, education and prevention.
